The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the development and execution of the Unsecured Term Funding strategy. The individual will play a critical role in the execution of $15-20 billion in annual term funding, directing the Diversity & Inclusion Bond Platform, developing strategies and platforms to enter and access new funding markets, and coordinating funding strategy with key global affiliates. The Treasury Director is also responsible for designing, implementing and driving the company’s investor relations programs in the global debt capital markets. This role will lead a team of 2 and report to the General Manager, Head of Markets & Liquidity.
A successful candidate will bring 15-20+ years of progressive experience with global capital markets and with leading a team of treasury trading professionals. The candidate will have experience in a market-facing role as a frequent issuer of unsecured debt (more than 5-10 deals a year) across various global platforms, structures and currencies generally in benchmark size ($1-1.5 billion).
What you’ll be doing
- Management of Unsecured Capital Market Programs and other Global Affiliates
- Design, implement and drive the execution of value-added unsecured funding opportunities across various debt issuance programs and platforms
- Maintain/minimize cost of funds & maximize funding diversification
- Develop and execute the capital markets strategy to maintain and enhance the groups reputation as a world-class borrower with best-in-class capital markets programs
- Balance need for low-cost funding, ALM matching with maximization of shareholder value creation through Debt Capital Market activities
- Lead the annual or periodic updates and filings of debt issuance programs
- Support for Regional/Global Treasury initiatives through:
- Support of global affiliates’ capital markets activities in their domestic markets; market and investor development, deal execution, etc.
- Coordination of debt execution with several global affiliates that access funding in the international markets
- Development of a global funding strategy to ensure lowest COF for the group and affiliates
- Management of Global Bank Relationships
- Manage bank relationship scorecard for all Debt Capital Markets funding activities to aid decision making on deal mandates, bank fee allocation, counterparty exposure thresholds and credit facility participation and allocation decisions
- Worldwide Investor Relations
- Develop and lead investor & bank/broker-dealer marketing programs to enhance group visibility in the global debt capital markets
- Lead the Investor Relations team as a presenter and a company official at venues, conferences, seminars and speaking engagements
What you will bring
- Masters/MBA or graduate degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline
- Expert experience as a frequent issuer (5-10 transactions per year) of unsecured debt in benchmark size ($1-1.5BN) across a variety of currencies, structures, and markets
- Demonstrated experience building and grooming global banking relationships and partnerships
- Demonstrated experience in managing investor relations strategies and processes
- Experience leading a small team of treasury professionals
- Knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters
- Experience with SQL, VBA, Tableau
